Mike is the Associate Professor of Neurology at Nottingham Vet School, and teaches
on our course, focusing on neurological testing and the neurological signs
produced by disease processes. He previously lectured on the RVC MSc
Veterinary Physiotherapy course before moving to the Nottingham School
of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
Dr Sarah Williams PhD Sarah
Williams is a Lecturer
at the University of Liverpool,
specialising in locomotor anatomy and biomechanics. Sarah studied for a
BSc Equine Science at the University of Bristol before undertaking a
PhD at the Royal Veterinary College's Structure and Motion laboratory.
She also lectured on the MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy course held at the RVC. She is passionate about the clinical applications of biomechanics, and
her research aims to further our understanding of limits to animal
locomotor performance.

Peter graduated in
1997 from the RVC,
London with Distinction in Veterinary Microbiology and a First Class
Honours Degree in Physiology from King’s College, London.He
then
spent his first
three years in mixed practice in Kent
before joining the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine,
University of Cambridge as Resident in Equine Studies.Here he
gained
the
Certificate in Equine Surgery (Orthopaedics) and then stayed
on to complete a HBLB funded PhD for research into chondrocyte
physiology and pathology in articular cartilage as part of the
Comparative Orthopaedics Research Group.Pete
joined the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Liverpool in
October 2006 where his interests are clinical orthopaedic
conditions, surgery and diagnostic imaging, musculoskeletal biology,
particularly chondrocyte biology and teaching. Pete is also
responsible for the new MRI facility, recently installed at Leahurst.
Barbara Houlding

Barbara has her own hydrotherapy pool (see www.irvap.org.uk) and provides practical
placements for the second year CEPT students. K9 Hydro Services
near Woodbridge,
Suffolk, provides a one-stop clinic for
veterinary physiotherapy. The Centre holds full membership with the
Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA) and Barbara is a Category A
member of ACPAT. The Centre offers a clinical service to Suffolk and
surrounding areas and is a Centre of Education, offering a range of
inclusive courses as well as clinical placements for postgraduate vet
physios. Barbara regularly lectures on the MSc course in veterinary
physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College.
